Who We Are

MATSUDA-DUNN DESIGN merges the diverse backgrounds of its principal, Larry Dunn, and Pamela Matsuda-Dunn with their experience in the fields of entertainment technology, theater and film production, sculpture and art, the retail experience, and web design.

Larry Dunn has worked in entertainment technology for over 30 years, collaborating with lighting and scenic designers in theater, film, dance, concerts, Las Vegas casino hotels, architectural and retail installations. During his career he has worked for Kliegl Bros., Entertainment Technology, Production Arts, PRG, and City Theatrical, as well as operating his own consulting practice. Along with Paul Kleissler, he designed the first wireless frequency-hopping lighting control system used on Broadway and London’s West End. This technology is now widely used in theaters throughout the world. Larry holds a US Patent in wireless DMX technology. In addition, he has years of experience in consumer product development, including household appliances, electronics, and children's products and toys.

Pamela Matsuda-Dunn is a visual artist whose work has been exhibited in the US and internationally. She designs websites for artists, musicians, and technical and retail clients. She has used her sculptural skills to create pieces for clients as diverse as Converse, the Ace Hotel, and L’Occitane for concept meetings, one-time events, and store display. Examples of her fine art work, including public art pieces, can be seen at www.pmdart.net
